So, here I am at 5:06am… Been up since just before 4am. Can’t sleep. Tossing. Turning. Thinking. About what? About what I see and feel God calling out of Trial by Fire… A ministry that is Real. Relevant. Relational. Real. What does that mean. Relational. Educational. Always Loving. Being real is being in relationships first. Educating each other on what really is going on in our lives and what Christ has called us to. At the same time, ALWAYS loving just like Christ does. NO MATTER WHAT!!! Relevant. What does that mean? Relating Eternal Love Ensuring Victory Acknowledging Notable Truths. We must relate to people today in a way that is loving yet in a way that will ensure victory for them in each individual situation. Acknowledging the truth of the Word of God in a way that is understandable in today’s society. Relational. What does that mean? Reaching Everyone Lovingly And Totally, Intentionally, Ordinarily, Never Altering Love We must reach those around us. We can only reach them with the love of Christ. We must be intentional. When we reach someone, we reach ALL of them. We reach them through ordinary ways. We cannot alter love to meet our needs. We must love as Christ loved us. Without fear. The Bible says that “perfect love casts out ALL fear”… We cannot be afraid to love and be loved. Its not easy but it is doable!!! I know there are probably better words to match up to the letters in the above words, BUT its my heart. I’m not a poet and I know it… hahaha catch that one… No seriously though, I’m just sharin my heart… I am in no way perfect. I have not attained anything better or more than the next guy. I just want to see us become the REAL church instead of the instatutionalized church that we have become. We MUST be REAL. RELEVANT. & RELATIONAL!!!! Check out Philippians 2:1-4 (Preferably in the New Living Translation) Anyhow, lots on my mind and just needed to get a bit off of it.. Let me know your thoughts… Peace. P.S. (Pastor Shaun)
